Sail on, sail far and, most importantly, sail to She Sails 2013: Inspiring Dana Hall Women on April 27, 2013, 8:15 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Last year’s She Sails was the hit of the spring as students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumnae all gathered for a day of activities, inspiration, and fun. This year promises no less.
She Sails 2013 will feature panels and workshops focused on mental healthcare, women business leaders, communications and media, athletics, government and public service, technology, the environment and sustainability, veterinary medicine, law, arts and entertainment, and finance and banking. All of these interesting areas of study spring from the minds and works of alums and Dana Hall affiliates alike.
She Sails is not limited to these amazing speakers. Breakout sessions and activities span the entire day. There will be Public Speaking Basics, Making Your Own Business Cards, Transition to College, Yoga and Games (such as Nautical Bingo), Professional Wardrobe basics, and so very much more. A complete list of panels and sessions can be found at community.danahall.org/shesails13.
Start your day with a Bruegger’s breakfast, take a break with a Boloco catered lunch, and top it off with a Smoothie Bike to make your own smoothies, Espresso Dave, the Photo Booth and the Candy Bar all returning. If that does not entice you enough to return, there will also be cupcakes! Sisters Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie KallinisLaMontagne, the Co-Founders of Georgetown Cupcake, will be this year’s closing speakers and will be bringing cupcakes for the event. Opening speakers will be Hillary Bailey Smith ’75, an Emmy Award-winning actress and Karen Middleton ’84, President of Emerge America, an organization that trains and encourages women to enter public office.
We know everyone has a Dana planner, so pull it out, write down the date, and don’t miss this amazing event. There’s something for all ages! Invitations will be mailed and more information will follow.
