Do you like toppings? Check Out Hot Doogy!

Hot Doogy, 1300 Worcester St, Natick, MA 01760

An easy 13-minute drive west from Dana will land you at the loaded brazilian style hot dog Loaded Brazilian Style Hot Dog quick-bite restaurant, Hot Doogy in Natick. As an avid hot dog lover, I knew I had to try this eatery right away.

Hot Doogy is known for their Brazillian Style hot dogs, which means topping overload. A typical Brazillian Style hot dog consists of a beef hot dog topped with meat tomato sauce, bacon bits, parmesan, peas, and shoestring potatoes. Here at Hot Doogy, they take this concept of many toppings to make their own special variation of hot dogs.

As soon as you approach the entrance, you get the indulgent smell of all the customizable toppings from bacon to onions. You order your hot dog from a giant touch screen ordering pad, or you can use their online ordering system, which is simple and fast.

This was the third visit I made to Hot Doogy so I ordered three hot dogs that I hadn’t tried yet. First up was their original Brazilian Doogy, which included a pork and beef hot dog, bacon, mashed potatoes, corn, vinaigrette salsa, mozzarella cheese, parmesan, potato sticks, tomato sauce, catupiry cream cheese, ketchup, and special green mayo. It certainly is not a meal for grab-n-go as the toppings loaded the top, and that was too much for my liking. It was very salty, so I don’t think I’d order this again.

Next up was the Chili Doogy. This variation included an all-beef hot dog topped with a scoop of chili, onions, jalapenos, and garnished with cheese. I am a strong fan of chili so I knew this was going to be a hit, and it definitely was. The ratio of chili to hot dog made each bite delectable, and even though it was loaded with a variety of toppings, the favors matched well together.

Rating: 8/10

And finally, The New York Style was a combination of a beef hot dog, bacon, coleslaw, caramelized onions, ketchup, and mustard. I think this was the overall winner for the best topping combinations for my palate. It wasn’t as heavy on the toppings as the Chilli and Brazillian Doogy

Rating: 10/10

The overall aesthetic of the establishment was decorated with light-up signs that are designed for photo opportunities. Ellie Bergstrom’24, a hot dog enthusiast, introduced me to Hot Doogy and thinks that it “is always a delightful experience, and the variety of hot dogs caters to every type of palate!” Coco Roberts’ 23 has visited Hot Doogy once and wasn’t sure what to expect when she first walked in. Hot dogs aren’t her favorite food yet, but “the food was a 10/10 experience with a trendy atmosphere.”

Hot Doogy doesn’t just serve their specialty of Brazillian Style Hot Dogs. They also have hamburgers, french fries, milkshakes, and acai ice cream. I did not get to try these menu options, but the company advertises them on their website and in-store.

Overall, Hot Doogy’s concept is appealing and is a stand-out restaurant in Middlesex County. The inviting nature and the freedom of customization of your meal make it suitable for everyone.
